I'm from science stream before I get into design course, which is not related with art and design at all. What motivates me to get into design course is when I watch some Disney animation and Japanese animation. The graphic and the movement of the movie or animation amaze me, and make me want to create something like this. So I decided to research on the course related.
Surprisingly I found out that there are quite many courses that are related with animation, and the general of all these courses are called as Multimedia Design. This makes me even want to create an animation! So I decide to talk to my parents about this.
After telling my parents about I want to study this course, my parents disagree of my idea of studying Multimedia Design because of their business minded. They thinks that the path of design is not easy and not consistent when it comes to work, so they really disagree of my decision. After both my parents disagree on this, I really don't know what to study. As my three science subject are not good, which will fail as a doctor, engineer, etc; I'm not really interested in business as well, as the world of business is quite complicated after I've seen my father running a business.
The opportunity came when my cousins ask me about what I want to study after my SPM, and I told them about what happen. Therefore they talk to my parents about this, slowly my parents accept it and let me study in this course.
After studying this course, I realize my strong part is not in graphic or images, but is on technical part such as editing video, audio and animation, especially audio. I realize this after I've done my internship in a music company which I have to edit songs.

First Exercise: Solutions for Problem
Problem: What need to be done to make the magazine to attract people from teenagers to elders?
Red: Solutions
Blue: Elaboration
Idea 1: Sections containing music bands from different music era. (Example: Elders wil have a section with bands from the 1980s and the youngster have music bands from year 2000s)
Create one section show the list of some popular old band, whereas at the same section also state the list of some popular new band.
Idea 2: Design the magazine cover with a combination design of 1980s and youth.
Maybe can add in the pictures of a popular old band (eg. Beatles) with some text or title of some news of current popular band. This may deceive the elder people to buy the magazine by looking at the picture of the old band, which is nostalgic for them.
Idea 3: Include old rock bands from the older times, their respective profile, their hit songs and the glory time.
Not only will attract the elders to read and remember, it will also make the youngster to read by wondering what makes them popular. If it's in the form of interactive magazine, can put in a play button to play their hit songs.
Idea 4: Include the interview of old singer/band about their experience or some encouragement to some new singer/band.
Maybe can include the interview of old singer/band about what they think of the current singer or band. In my opinion, the elders and youngster might have the interest of knowing their road of success.

In this first exercise, we are given one exercise which is called 6-3-5. Which we will form one group with 6 people and each person will receive a paper which consist of problem statement and three ways of solving problem, a person will state a problem on the paper, then the group member will have to switch the paper to the person beside to provide 3 ways of solving problem in 5 minutes.
Thus by random choosing, I have my group mates which will also be the one who will be doing the group assignment with me: Nathania, Jared and Spencer.
(Due to the limited people in a class, each and every group will have 4-5 people in a group)
After the the four of us fill up the form, then our lecturer require us to choose suitable solution for the problem that I have stated.

Assignment Brief
24th March 2014 is an introduction week in Taylor's, on the first day of this class, besides than introduce us about this subject, we are also given assignment brief by our lecturer, Mr Razif.
Throughout this semester (will be 14 weeks), we will have only one assignment which is to create a prototype or finishing of a digital magazine and it will be in collaboration with ROTTW Magazine, Malaysia's premier music magazine.
This assignment will be in group assignment.

First Time using Adobe After Effect
In the first class of Compositing & Special Effect, we are going to use Adobe After Effect as our software for doing the exercises as well as in assignment.
